Features · Leave

Every kind of NZ leave, in one place.

Staff request leave from their phone. Approvers see who else is away before they decide. Approved paid leave goes to payroll with the hours.

What it does

  • The leave types an NZ employer has to record

Annual, sick, bereavement, family violence, parental, unpaid, time off in lieu and alternative holidays. Australian staff see the equivalent types for their state.

  • Working days, counted for you

A request counts weekdays and skips New Zealand public holidays, or the state's holidays for Australian staff. The count can be adjusted, never above the calendar days. A request that overlaps the person's own pending or approved leave is refused.

  • Clash warnings before approval

For every pending request the approver sees who else in their team is away on those days. It is a warning — small teams sometimes have no choice, and the decision stays theirs.

  • A team calendar and who's away

A four-week calendar for approvers, a year grid, and a daily who's-away view. The type of leave is shown only to people allowed to see it, so sick leave stays private.

  • Cancel, with the right person's say-so

A person cancels their own pending request. Approved leave is cancelled by a manager, or the person asks and the manager is told.

  • To payroll with the hours

Approved paid leave is included in the payroll export batch alongside the week's timesheets.

Worth knowing

The limits, stated plainly, so nothing on this page says more than the software does.

  • Balances are planning indicators, not the Holidays Act calculation: annual leave accrues continuously from the start date, and your payroll system stays authoritative.
  • An annual or sick leave request above the balance is not blocked; only time off in lieu is held to what has been banked.
  • The Employment Leave Act readiness report checks that your records hold what the new rules will need. It calculates no entitlement.
  • Leave notices are in the app, plus the daily digest email. There is no calendar subscription.
