Features · Payroll export

Approved hours, straight to Xero Payroll.

Connect Xero once. Each pay period, the approved weeks and approved paid leave that have not been sent yet go across as timesheets — the same payable hours the approver saw.

What it does

  • Connect Xero in a minute

An administrator signs in to Xero and chooses the organisation. The connection is stored encrypted, refreshed automatically, and logged.

  • Only what has been approved

A batch holds approved timesheets and approved paid leave inside the period that have not been exported before. Each day goes across as payable hours, net of unpaid meal breaks — the figure the approver saw.

  • A minimum wage check before anything leaves

Every rate is checked against the adult minimum wage in force for each day being paid, from the rules Ask Your HR maintains. If anyone is below it, every administrator is told, and the batch cannot be created until the person exporting acknowledges it.

  • Locked once sent

When Xero accepts the batch, the timesheets and leave in it are marked exported and locked, in one step. A failed push locks nothing and can be retried without sending anything twice.

  • What was sent, kept

Every batch keeps an encrypted copy of exactly what was sent, with the rule sets the minimum wage check used, so an export can be explained a year later.

Worth knowing

The limits, stated plainly, so nothing on this page says more than the software does.

  • Xero is the payroll system today. MYOB has been written but never run against the live service, and PayHero is switched off, so neither is offered.
  • AskHR360 creates timesheets and leave applications in Xero. It does not calculate pay, run a pay run, make payments or file with Inland Revenue.
  • A weekly pay calendar is assumed, hours book to your ordinary earnings rate, and employees are matched by email address or full name.
  • The minimum wage check is acknowledged by the person exporting. A rate it cannot assess — no pay record, no contracted hours — is shown but does not stop the export.
  • No Australian payroll connection.
